Miami Author Series: Mirta Ojito

A good fit for older teens and adults interested in books and authors.

Join the Museum of Miami for a fireside chat with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Mirta Ojito as she discusses her acclaimed novel Deeper Than the Ocean. A sweeping story of family, migration, love, and the secrets that can reshape everything we thought we knew about where we come from.

Ojito’s dual narrative brings history and memory together, exploring the ways migration, family stories, and buried secrets can echo across generations. During the conversation, Ojito will share the inspiration behind Deeper Than the Ocean and discuss the history, places, and human stories woven throughout the novel.

Following the conversation, Ojito will be available for a book signing. Books & Books–Coral Gables will be on-site with copies of Deeper Than the Ocean available for purchase.
