Johns Hopkins CTY is coming to South Florida this summer

Published: February 2, 2026

South Florida families looking for fun summer learning options for their kids have a new opportunity close to home: for the first time, Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth will host in-person day programs for advanced learners in grades 2-8 at Saint Andrew’s School in Boca Raton, Fla. this summer.

Students from South Florida and beyond are invited to spend three weeks at CTY exploring a topic they love, guided by expert instructors, and surrounded by classmates who share their curiosity. Enrollment is now open for the program, which will take place weekdays at Saint Andrew’s School starting the week of June 28, 2026.

In addition to the Saint Andrew’s School location, CTY’s in-person summer programs for students in grades 2-12 will be held at 10 schools and university campuses across the U.S. Day programs are open to students in grades 2-8, and residential programs are open to students in grades 5-12. Enrollment is also open for summer online courses in a variety of subjects.

Courses at CTY at Saint Andrew’s this summer include Cloudy with a Chance of Science, Inventions, Shaping Our World: Architecture, Numbers: Zero to Infinity, Anatomy and Physiology, and Foundations of Psychology.

Founded at Johns Hopkins University nearly 50 years ago, CTY designs programs specifically for advanced learners—students who thrive when challenged, move quickly through material, and love exploring ideas in depth. Courses go beyond traditional school offerings, giving students opportunities to dive deep into subjects they’re passionate about and join a community of kids who love to learn.

At CTY, students can:

  • Take advanced courses they won’t find in school, from STEM and humanities to writing, math, and beyond
  • Work with instructors experienced in teaching curious, motivated students
  • Build lasting friendships with peers who love learning
  • Explore their favorite subjects in a fun, supportive environment

To get started, families should join CTY and then register for testing or submit qualifying test scores to determine which courses are the best fit for their child.

Courses fill quickly—explore the full summer course catalog and enroll today. Summer never looked so smart!
