Starry, Starry Nights
FAU Astronomical Observatory
Visitors are invited to observe the night sky alongside students and astronomy enthusiasts during regularly scheduled sessions held on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month. Observations take place in “night mode” where the facility uses red lighting to preserve visitors’ night vision. Sessions are free and open to the public. Fox Observatory at Markham Park
Operated by the South Florida Amateur Astronomers Association, this observatory welcomes the public for weekly stargazing through professional telescopes every Saturday night from dusk until midnight. Stocker AstroScience Center at FIU
At the Stocker AstroScience Center, part of Florida International University, visitors can experience the night sky through powerful telescopes during public observing nights. On Saturday nights, when skies are clear, the center opens its observatory roof giving stargazers the chance to view planets, stars and other celestial objects with guidance from staff and volunteers.
