Event Details

The annual Japanese Spring Festival returns on Sunday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to Miami Beach Botanical Garden, located at 2000 Convention Center Drive in Miami Beach. Admission is free with registration at bit.ly/MBBGarden.

The Japanese Spring Festival invites guests to experience Japanese culture firsthand through interactive and immersive encounters including thundering performances of Taiko drumming by Fushu Daiko, Ikebana floral design workshops, traditional Japanese tea ceremonies, hands-on origami lessons and more.

A family-friendly event, the Japanese Spring Festival offers a children’s corner featuring storytelling and arts and crafts. Guests will also have the opportunity to shop for unique artisan items in a Japan-inspired marketplace.

New to this year’s festival is an authentic sushi demonstration and tasting sponsored by the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami. Chef Mitsutoshi Sekita, owner and head chef of Koume Japanese Restaurant in Plantation, will share insights about the centuries-old tradition of sushi and demonstrate its unique preparation. Following the display, guests will have the opportunity to taste the freshly made sushi.

In addition to the Consulate-General of Japan in Miami, sponsors of the Japanese Spring Festival include the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade County, CultureOwl and Ikebana International Miami.
