This free event, open to all South Florida residents regardless of YMCA membership, highlights health and wellness activities for children, such as summer camp, youth sports, swimming lessons and more and offers a fun-filled day of family-friendly activities for the entire community to enjoy.
Activities offered include sports and wellness demonstrations, bounce houses and slides, music with live DJs, community partner vendors, carnival games, food trucks, and much more. All attendees are also offered exclusive summer camp savings for registration onsite.
Additionally, the YMCA will host a special Salute to Fleet Week at the Weston YMCA this year. The Weston YMCA Healthy Kids Day will feature carnival games and activities for the entire family, the Top Gun Olympics fitness challenge with sailors, Marines, law enforcement and fitness enthusiasts, as well as robotics STEM activities.

MODS Sensory-Friendly Sundays provide a sensory sensitive environment for individuals on the Autism Spectrum. The museum is open an hour early for exploration and activities followed by an IMAX film at 12:30 p.m.
To provide a more sensory-sensitive environment for individuals on the autism spectrum, the theater lights will be turned up and the sound will be lowered. All films will be presented in 2D and no trailers will be shown before the movie. Audience members are welcome to get up, sing, walk, dance and shout.
Throughout the Museum, children can participate in a variety of sensory-based activities. They can engage in social interactions and improve their processing, modulation and regulation of sensory input to increase their participation in a natural environment.

History Fort Lauderdale, in celebration of National Historic Preservation Month, will present “Lauderdale Living: The Architecture of Possibilities” from Thursday, May 1 – Sunday, June 29. The exhibition will showcase rarely seen historical photographs from the museum’s collection alongside contemporary works by artists Christina Lihan and Abby Laughlin. A free public opening reception with the artists will take place on Thursday, May 1, from 6 – 8 p.m., at the New River Inn Museum of History building on History Fort Lauderdale’s campus (231 Southwest Second Avenue).
Beginning May 1, History Fort Lauderdale will be open five days a week from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with docent guided tours, daily, at 1, 2 and 3 p.m. (closed Tuesday and Wednesday). Group walking tours are available upon special request. Admission is $15 for adults; $12 for seniors and $7 for students (through age 22 with a valid student ID). Admission is free for members, military and children ages six and under. Tickets are available online at HistoryFortLauderdaleTickets.
