Fourth of July Events in South Florida

From festive fireworks displays to quaint community parades, there are so many ways to make this Independence Day sparkle. Here’s a sampling of some of South Florida’s fabulous Fourth of July celebrations.

Broward County

Coral Springs – Join the city’s annual Fourth of July celebration for residents with entertainment, family activities and a grand fireworks display at 8:30pm. 5-9pm, Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Dr., 954-345-2200 http://www.coralsprings.org  

Davie – Enjoy a community celebration and night of family fun featuring live music, rides, kids’ activities, food trucks and a fireworks display. Davie residents only. 6-9pm, Bamford Sports Complex, 3801 S. Pine Island Rd., http://www.davie-fl.gov  

Deerfield Beach – This celebration kicks off at the beach with music, vendors and more. The fun continues into the evening with a spectacular fireworks show at 9:05pm. 5-9:30pm, Main Beach Parking Lot, 149 SE 21 St., 954-480-4429 http://www.deerfield-beach.com 

Lauderdale-By-The-Sea – A day of old-fashioned fun with a parade starting at 10am followed by family-friendly activities until 2pm. Fireworks display at 9pm. El Prado Park, 4500 El Mar Dr., http://www.discoverlbts.com

Margate – Kick off the day with a small-town parade starting at 10am down Margate Boulevard. The fun continues with a Calypso Cove Pool Party from 1-4pm followed by an evening celebration with live music and food trucks from 5-9pm and a fireworks display at 9pm.www.margatefl.com

Pembroke Pines – Gather family and friends to enjoy music, food and fireworks. Bring your own blankets and lawn chairs. Free. 5-9pm, Pines Recreation Center, 7400 Pines Blvd., 954-392-2116 http://www.ppines.com 

Plantation – The City of Plantation celebrates 70 Years of Community and Independence Day with a parade at 9am at Broward Boulevard and NW 46 Avenue, and activities beginning at 6pm that include a Kids’ Fun Zone and concert at Plantation Central Park, and a fireworks display at 9pm. http://www.plantation.org

Pompano Beach – Gather at the beach to listen to live music followed by fireworks at 9pm. 5:30-9:30pm, Pompano Beach Fishing Pier, 222 N. Pompano Beach Blvd., http://www.pompanobeachfl.gov  

Sunrise – Floats will wind their way west along Sunset Strip from NW 12 Street to City Park, where the fun continues with free refreshments and kids’ entertainment. 9am-noon, 954-747-4600 http://www.sunrisefl.gov 

In the evening, join your neighbors for children’s activities, live music and a fireworks display. Free. 6-10pm, FLA Live Arena, One Panther Parkway, http://www.sunrisefl.gov

Tamarac – Fun-filled festivities include an outdoor concert, inflatables, face painting, arts and crafts, activities and food trucks. A fireworks display begins promptly at 9pm. 6-9:30pm, Tamarac Sports Complex, 9901 NW 77 St., http://www.tamarac.org

Weston – Join this hometown celebration a day early on Monday, July 3. Festivities include an interactive fun zone, airbrush tattoos, balloon twisters, a craft activity and music followed by a firework finale. 6-9pm, Weston Regional Park, 20200 Saddle Club Rd., Weston, http://www.westonfl.org 

Miami-Dade County

Doral – Activities for the whole family begin at 6pm and a grand finale fireworks display starts at 9:20pm. Event is for Doral residents only at Trump National Doral, 3000 NW 87 Ave. Limited tickets available. A separate fireworks display will take place near the Doral Glades Park area at 9:20pm for at-home viewing for those who live nearby. http://www.cityofdoral.com 

Miami – Listen to the soothing sounds of the Miami Symphony Orchestra this Fourth, conducted by Eduardo Marturet. 7:30-9pm, Peacock Park, 2830 McFarlane Rd., http://www.coconutgrove.com

North Bay Village – Celebrate Independence Day with a concert, barbecue and family entertainment in North Bay Village. 6-8pm, Vogel Park, 7920 W. Dr., http://www.northbayvillage-fl.gov

Palmetto Bay – Enjoy an evening of live music, food vendors, a toddler fun zone, street entertainment and arts and craft vendors, culminating with a fireworks extravaganza. 6-9pm, Village Hall, 9705 E. Hibiscus St., http://www.palmettobay-fl.gov

South Miami – Bring the family for music, food, fireworks and fun. 5-9pm, Palmer Park, 6100 SW 67 Ave., http://www.southmiamifl.gov

Palm Beach County

Boca Raton – Put on your red, white and blue and head out for family activities and live music followed by a fireworks display. Free. 5:30-9:30pm, Countess De Hoernle Park, 1000 NW Spanish River Blvd., 561-393-7807 http://www.myboca.us 

Delray Beach – Head to East Atlantic Avenue for flag raising activities, children’s games, entertainment, and a fireworks display. 5-9:30pm, Delray Beach, 561-243-7250 http://www.delraybeachfl.gov
