In 2001, Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) Alvin Sherman Library, Research, and Information Technology Center opened its doors to the NSU and Broward County community. Conceived by NSU and the Broward County Board of County Commissioners, the library is designed as a joint-use facility uniting the services of a public library and an academic library.
Because the library serves as a public institution, public patrons have access to the library’s abundant resources. The library houses collaborative study rooms, computer labs, and its own art gallery. Its online resources can be accessed anywhere with the NSU Alvin Sherman Library card. We encourage you to take advantage of this unique blend of art, culture, information, and technology. Sign up for a library card today. Our devoted staff is ready and waiting to help you make the most of your experience.
Events and Programs: Through community partnerships and NSU’s support, we are able to bring you cultural exhibits, educational workshops, and speakers of all kinds. Most importantly, we provide nationally recognized children’s programming. Want to help your child build early literacy skills? Join us for storytime where children enjoy books, songs, and reading activities. There is always something happening at the Alvin Sherman Library that will spark your interest. Our events and programs are free and open to the public.
