Hurricane season is here, and consumers who need to prepare are getting a sales-tax break on qualifying items from June 1 through June 14. Some of the items included in the state’s Sales Tax Holiday are – wet dog or cat food, leashes and pet beds, self-powered light sources and radios, batteries, portable power banks, pet kennels and carriers and portable generators. If you miss out this time around or need to replenish your supply toward the end of the summer, a second exemption period will take place August 24 through September 6.
