Phatty the cat loves nothing more than spending his days balanced atop his favorite chair gazing out his windows at Central Park below. Everything is simply fan-tabby-lous until one day, when the meanest hawk in the park lands on his terrace and makes a terrifying announcement that he is coming for Phatty and his furry little friends.
Phatty sets out on a mission to stop the bully hawk Crawler from hurting his friends and stealing his mother’s jewelry. This brave kitty and his ragtag buddies learn about teamwork, kindness and forgiveness, all while facing their fears in Central Park.
In The Adventures of Phatty and Payaso: Central Park children’s author Marie Unanue stresses the importance of kindness as well as self-control, grit, social awareness and other character skills. Entertaining, funny and filled with adventure, the book is for readers of all ages.
Unanue will be bringing Phatty and Payaso to Cabo Flats CityPlace Doral on Nov. 8 at a book signing event at 7:30 pm. The Cartel Baggers Motorcycles of Miami will be on-hand to celebrate The Adventures of Phatty and Payaso and to help get the message out that kids need to be kinder to each other.
Books will be available for purchase. Cabo Flats will be donating a percentage of meal/drink sales from 7:30 pm until midnight; in addition to book sales, Unanue will match Cabo’s donation. Monies raised from both the book sales and sales of food and drink will go toward purchasing books for local elementary and middle schools.
