The Genealogical Society of Greater Miami is collaborating with the Deering Estate as we celebrate America250 and highlight members of the Deering family who have played a role in the founding of our country. The exhibition “Family History is America’s Story: Tracing the Deering Family through Time” tells the country’s story, from before the Revolutionary War through today.
Installed in The Dining Room, a historic space in the Richmond Cottage at the Deering Estate, the exhibition will be on view from July 1 – October 31, 2026.

Concessions will be open on the Promenade Level in the designated Bark at the Park seating sections.
Please note, the Miami Marlins do not recommend bringing the following dog breeds to Bark at the Park due to potential health risks:

Departing from the Deering Estate on a comfortable riding 45-foot Corinthian catamaran, this four-hour tour will allow you to experience Biscayne National Park in a new light! After departing from Deering Estate, a Biscayne National Park Ranger guides you on a journey through Biscayne Bay to see the iconic Cape Florida, Fowey Rocks, and Boca Chita lighthouses and learn about the history that surrounds them. You cut through the alluring Stiltsville and go to Boca Chita Key to get up close to Biscayne National Park’s iconic Boca Chita Lighthouse with a chance of climbing to the top of Boca Chita Lighthouse for a panoramic view of the Bay. You may also have the opportunity to see wildlife including, dolphins, sea turtles, and many shore birds. The vessel complies with Coast Guard Regulations and is ADA accessible.

This summer, guests will have a new opportunity to become citizen scientists. Deering Estate is home to several rare species of butterflies. Guests will explore various habitats in search of the Ruddy Daggerwing, Dina Yellow, & Atala as well as the nearly 40 species of butterflies that are onsite. Join us on a guided tour though their favorite spots on the Estate. Guests are encouraged to document their flora & fauna findings on the iNaturalist app.
Cost: $18 per adult (ages 15 ), $10 per youth (ages 4-14). General Admission can be purchased onsite on the day of your visit. Free for Deering Estate Foundation Members.
All guests, including Deering Estate Foundation Members, are required to sign-up at the Main Gate before the tour begins in order to ensure their space. Space is limited capacity, and spots are available on a first-come, first- serve basis.

Join a Deering Estate naturalist on a ‘Herp Tour’ throughout the property’s restricted natural areas. This program offers a chance to understand our reptilian and amphibious neighbors in wild and urban habitats. The event begins with a “sneak peek” of Deering Estate’s live captive herp specimens. Participants will be granted the opportunity to observe some of our scaly, shelled, and amphibious residents including a few exotic species such as the boa constrictor (red-tailed boa). Please meet at the Visitor Center.
Guests are encouraged to document their flora & fauna findings on the iNaturalist app. (Available on Google Play and App Store).
Cost: $20 per person (ages 4 & older; members & nonmembers). Spaces are very limited! Registration online only. No Sales at the Gate, no walk-ins/walk-ups.
