At Flamingo Gardens you can feed a flamingo, take a narrated Tram Tour through a tropical hardwood jungle, and encounter Everglades native wildlife!

Flamingo Gardens is a botanical garden of rare, unusual, or endangered tropical and sub-tropical plants, and a wildlife sanctuary home to permanently injured and non-releasable Florida native wildlife.

Founded in 1927, it is one of the oldest botanical gardens in South Florida and most of the large trees and plants at Flamingo Gardens were planted in the 20s - 40s. Today, the 60-acre not-for-profit botanical garden boasts 15 Champion Trees certified as the largest trees of their species by the Florida Division of Forestry. It contains thousands of orchids and one of the largest heliconia collections in the continental United States.

The historic Wray Home, built in 1933, is the oldest residence in Broward County west of University Drive and is now a museum reflecting South Florida life in the 1930s.

The Everglades Wildlife Sanctuary is home to the largest collection of Florida native wildlife in the state including alligators, black bear, bobcats, eagles, hawks, otters, owls, panther, peacocks, and of course flamingos. Be sure to visit the new native Butterfly Conservatory!

Flamingo Gardens is open daily (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas), 9:30am to 5:00pm. The last ticket is sold at 4:00pm. Allow at least 2-3 hours to see all it has to offer!
