Since childhood, Sarah Rocca has been captivated by the power of imagery, the ability to freeze time and preserve memories through the art of painting with light. Her vivid imagination, once confined to the colorful worlds she envisioned as a child, found its voice through digital tools. This fusion of creativity and technology allowed Rocca to bring her unique perspective to life and share it with a broader audience.
Rocca’s use of color serves not only as a visual element but as a narrative device. Through her deliberate color choices, she conveys mood, emotion and unspoken subtext, inviting viewers to engage with each piece on a personal level. An Exploration of Color is a visual memoir, a journey through Rocca’s experiences of love, divorce, depression and joy. Each image encourages the viewer to reflect on how color influences their emotions and to interpret the story it tells through their own lens.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant traditions and cultural heritage of the Polynesian Islands at Heiva Miami 2026, taking place on Saturday, April 18 and 19, 2026, at the iconic Miami Marine Stadium. This full-day festival offers a rich blend of cultural experiences, from food and crafts to ancestral sports and live performances, celebrating the spirit of French Polynesia, Hawaii, New Zealand, and more. Festival activities begin at 9 a.m.
Savor island-inspired cuisine, including shrimp rice plates, poke, and shaved ice, while exploring arts and crafts like lei-making, jewelry design, Tahitian drumming, and basket weaving. Local vendors and sponsors will also be on-site, offering a variety of products and interactive exhibits.
The day’s entertainment features a live island music, DJ, musical guests, dance performances and competition, and free Polynesian dance classes, including hula and the high-energy ‘Ori Tahiti dance. Visitors can also participate in ancestral sports such as Coconut Tree Climbing Races (Tauma Haʻari), Fruit Carrying Races (Timau Ra’au), Stone Lifting (Amora’a ‘Ōfa’i) and Beach Wrestling (Taputo). Registration is required for these activities.
Simultaneously, the 3rd Annual Black Belt Paddler Challenge will take place at the adjacent rowing center, showcasing a thrilling multi-craft paddling race inspired by traditional competitions of Tahiti and Hawaii. Top athletes from around the globe will compete for the coveted Black Belt Paddler Title, adding an exciting element to the festivities.
