Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) of Broward County is recruiting young professionals to join the BIG League. Members will come together to build community, grow professionally and change the game for Broward’s youth through mentorship and service.
Admission to the “draft party” and on-site valet parking is complimentary, but advance RSVP is required. Enjoy light bites, interactive networking, great drinks at the cash bar and fun draft-inspired moments while learning more about BBBS’ mission, the organization and what it means to join the BIG League. Throughout the evening, guests can participate in raffle drawings for exciting prizes.

Enjoy a free concert series with a broad range of musical varieties featuring a different live performer each showtime! Carter Park Jamz takes place on the third Friday of select months from 7 to 10 p.m. at Carter Park.
For several years, Carter Park Jamz has provided residents and visitors with the opportunity to experience music outdoors with their family and friends while relaxing under the evening stars. Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, picnic blankets, and coolers. Food and beverages are available for purchase.
The concert is free to attend. From R&B to pop, Carter Park Jamz has it all!

The YMCA of South Florida once again hosts the FREE annual Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at seven YMCA locations in Broward and Miami-Dade counties.
The free Healthy Kids Day, sponsored by Nicklaus Children’s Health System and Publix Super Markets Charities, is open to everyone, regardless of YMCA membership. The fun-filled day showcases YMCA programs, including family-friendly health and wellness activities, swim lessons and a sneak peek at summer Camp Y and the youth sports program. Other fun activities include program demonstrations, bounce houses, carnival games, food trucks, and more. Activities vary by location.

This free public exhibition series, launching on Sunday, May 3, in collaboration with the Quilt Guild by the Sea, will celebrate the artistry and tradition of quilting, bringing colorful stories to life through fabric and craftsmanship.
Quilt lovers and curious visitors alike are invited to enjoy these one-day-only pop-up displays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., coinciding with the City’s Riverwalk Jazz Brunch series. Quilts will be on display draped over the second-story balcony and showcased inside the New River Inn Museum, offering visitors a rich blend of craftsmanship and history.

Bring a blanket or chair to the beautiful Hollywood ArtsPark for a FREE show by jazz legend Joe Lovano – real jazz by the living master of the tenor sax and his quartet.
Joe Lovano has performed and recorded with a long list of jazz greats including Woody Herman, Dr. Lonnie Smith, Bill Frisell, Tony Bennett, Abbey Lincoln, Charlie Haden, John Scofield, McCoy Tyner, Ed Blackwell, Herbie Hancock, Dave Holland, Chucho Valdés, Ornette Coleman, Diana Krall, and many others. Joe has created an extensive body of work for his own ensembles.
Opening set by Fort Lauderdale’s award-winning Dillard Center for the Arts (DCA) Jazz Ensemble. This 21-member high school jazz band has been recognized nationally for its excellence, winning the prestigious Essentially Ellington High School Jazz Band Competition in New York City multiple times. The current director Voshaun Smith is an alumni of the band!
The Hollywood Arts Park Experience is produced by the Rhythm Foundation for the City of Hollywood.
