Calling all SuperBowl Fans!

Calling all SuperBowl Fans!

Kickoff of the NFL’s centennial season is still more than a month away, but Miami is already gearing up for the Super Bowl.

For the record-breaking 11th time, the city is playing host to the big game, and the Miami Super Bowl Host Committee has already been working for months toward its goal of recruiting 10,000 volunteers, who will serve as ambassadors throughout South Florida during the week leading up to Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2, 2020.

However, the deadline for joining the celebration is fast approaching. Applications must be completed by Aug. 1. In-person interviews are being conducted during the summer followed by a mandatory orientation in the fall and a mandatory role-specific training session in January.

Spearheaded by Miami Dolphins legend and longtime local resident Dan Marino, the volunteer program is seeking high-energy, enthusiastic volunteers who are passionate about football, love South Florida and can commit to at least three shifts of four to six hours during Super Bowl week (Jan. 25 – Feb. 2). Volunteers, who must be at least 18 years old and speak English, will be stationed at such locations as Downtown Miami, Miami Beach Convention Center, airports, hotels and fan events. They will receive a complimentary uniform kit, including a jacket, polo, backpack and hat.

Plenty of positions are still available, according to Wyatt Kopelman, a marketing volunteer. “We’re looking for 10,000 volunteers,” he says. “So far, only about 2,000 have been selected.”
